PALMETTO BLUFF, S.C. (June 19, 2012) – The South’s biggest culinary stars will once again meet for the sixth annual Music to Your Mouth food and wine festival hosted by Palmetto Bluff, the picturesque 20,000-acre community in the stunning Lowcountry of South Carolina. The week-long festival will offer an unparalleled culinary experience bringing together more than 75 of the brightest local and regional chefs, brewers, growers, artisans and international winemakers beginning Wednesday, Nov. 14. Home to The Inn at Palmetto Bluff, recently named the “No. 1 Hotel in the USA” by U.S. News & World Report, the community and conservation preserve known as Palmetto Bluff, is the backdrop to culinary showdowns, blending and cooking classes, tailgating parties, river cruises, and oyster roasts that take food and wine enthusiasts on a sensory experience redefining southern cuisine.

“We’re excited to embark on our sixth year of Music to Your Mouth, inviting locals and visitors to celebrate the region’s traditions and hospitality,” said Palmetto Bluff food and beverage director, Jeremy Walton.

“It is an honor to announce this year’s title sponsor, Audi of America,” adds event director and Palmetto Bluff marketing manager, Courtney Hampson. “As one of the most established automobile manufacturers, the elite brand of Audi of America will introduce new events including a tailgating party, driving experiences and an Audi lounge.”

Music to Your Mouth is continuing the tradition of partnering with Second Helpings, a non-profit organization that has placed more than one million pounds of food destined for landfills with 65 other non-profit agencies in South Carolina. A portion of ticket and package sales will be donated to the Second Helpings organization.

“We are delighted to partner with Second Helpings and support their efforts to distribute more than one million pounds of food in our three-county area, helping to eliminate hunger and encourage self-reliance,” said Hampson. “We understand the importance of giving back to our local community and it’s a privilege to help those in need by donating a portion of Culinary Festival and Whole Hog ticket purchases to Second Helpings.”

Additional Festival highlights include: a blending class in the wine cellar where attendees will learn the most important steps in making wine while creating their own cuvee of Pinot Noir; the Heart of Dixie and The Mississippi Delta cooking classes celebrating local farms and foods of the selected regions; an Audi Tailgate to kick-off the Whole Hog Weekend; a friendly Hair of the Dog 5K routed along Palmetto Bluff’s nature trails; and a Kiss the Pig Oyster Roast with live musical entertainment, signature cocktails and May River views.
