Each year, many soon-to-be parents make lists to choose for their newborns. Some chose a family name, others may look at a unique one, or others might look at ways to express their lifestyles.
I searched for “adventurous” baby names and found quite a few that resonated with my passion for travel.
The names below are associated with excitement, exploration, and the pursuit of new experiences. It suggests that your baby will have a bold, adventurous spirit and a desire to see and experience new things— a love of risk-taking and a willingness to embrace the unknown.
Here are some ideas for kids’ names that might inspire a love of travel:
- Atlas: This name is inspired by the mythical figure who was forced to hold up the sky on his shoulders. It is also the name of a famous map-making company.
- Kaida: In Japanese, this term translates to “little dragon” and could inspire a love of adventure and far-off lands.
- Kai: Meaning “sea” in Hawaiian, being named this could inspire a passion for the ocean… and beach vacations. (Yay!)
- Phoenix: The moniker of a mythical bird, said to be reborn from its ashes, might inspire a love of rising from challenges and exploring new places.
- Nova: This name means “new” in Latin and could inspire an affinity for discovery and trying new things.
- Skye (or Sky): It’s the ultimate definition of soaring through the air and exploring new heights.
- Jett (or Jet): A name inspiring a fervor of fast-paced travel and excitement.
- Devon: “Wanderer” by namesake, says straight away, “love of exploration” and travel.
I’ve always said that “Adventure is an extension of one’s curiosity.”
Perhaps these names for the little one will grant inquisitiveness and a desire to learn and discover new things.
