Huntley Santa Monica Beach Takes Design to New Heights with Over-The-Top Presidential Suite Luxuriously Chic, Renowned Designer Thomas Schoos Sets a New Benchmark for Beachside Cool

Los Angeles – The Huntley Hotel, Hollywood’s favorite hangout and Santa Monica’s newest hot spot, continues to set the standard for modern beachside glamour with the unveiling of the new Presidential Suite by Los Angeles-based designer Thomas Schoos. Designed to cater to the hotel’s elite clientele, the stylish suite is the premier choice of Hollywood A-listers when it comes time to host private parties, intimate meetings, or just a much-needed getaway. Now, with an $18 million renovation completed, the Presidential Suite is the ultimate urban retreat for the jet set crowd, flawlessly complementing the hotel’s seductive new look and rooftop restaurant, The Penthouse. The suite spans approximately 1,000 square feet on the 17th floor, high above the shores of the Pacific Ocean with unbeatable views that include the glistening Santa Monica coastline and the sprawling Los Angeles cityscape. Upon entering the dramatic suite, guests are immediately struck by the expansive wall of windows, inviting Santa Monica’s distinctive natural elements—sea, sky and sun—into this contemporary beachside hideaway. The white backdrop is brought to life with the pale blue and earth-toned accents, inspired by the stunning vistas seen from every viewpoint in the suite. The suite’s living area, a fresh take on urban living, is complete with modern furnishings that include a sleek, linear leather sofa, lounge chairs and floor-to-ceiling mirrors that add warmth and opulence. The adjacent dining area features a large wooden table that resembles a polished piece of driftwood and is reminiscent of sitting on a pier with the unparallel ocean views seen from the suite’s windows.

“The inspiration for the Presidential Suite was to create a suite that was unlike anything else in Santa Monica,” says Schoos.  “Set on the 17th floor, the panoramic views provided an incredible backdrop for a simple, but sexy suite with exotic touches throughout.” In keeping with Schoos’ urban inspiration, he designed the one-of-a-kind suite to be adaptable to each guest, incorporating a contemporary take on studio living. By utilizing sliding doors on either side of the master suite, the space can be open for entertaining or closed for more privacy.Guests feel at home in the master suite with cozy and direct lighting, Versailles bed linens and a king-sized platform bed with a fully upholstered patent leather headboard.  The adjacent master bath is open to the bedroom, making it a focal point of the living quarters.  With its freestanding, oversized bathtub complete with a dedicated LCD television, a separate water closet and shower area and an adjacent floating white vanity, Schoos created the perfect retreat for relaxing after a day or night out on the town. The sexy and modern design of the suite are only heightened with the special amenities that include a wet bar with wine refrigerator, Gilchrest & Soames bath amenities, iPod docking station, wireless high-speed Internet and a fully stocked mini bar. In addition to designing the Presidential Suite, Schoos also inspired the look of the hotel’s Signature and Malibu Suites.  Each suite is Schoos’ take on modern beachside luxury with sleek lines, open floor plans and neutral color palettes with ocean inspired accents to reflect the one-of-a-kind views. The Presidential, Malibu and Signature Suites are available at starting nightly rates of $1,800, $750 and $550 respectively.  For reservations, please call (310) 394-5454 or visit the web site:
