ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Wireless Flash) -- Most girly girls aren't
exactly thrill-seekers, but one model-turned-adventurer from
Los Angeles is trying to prove otherwise.
     Globe trotter Stefanie Michaels has gone swimming with
sharks in the Caribbean and been on safari in South Africa,
and now she's going to the dogs this Saturday (Mar. 3).
     Michaels -- who calls herself "Adventure Girl" -- is
participating in the 35th Annual Iditarod dog sled race, and
will be riding for 20 miles with an expert musher through the
freezing snow to help raise funds for cancer research.
     Michaels insists she's not too nervous about the ride,
but has still been training hard in preparation for the high-
speed race.
     Says Michaels: "I've been doing strength training
exercises and working on my balance. I don't want to fall off
the sled, but if the dogs can mush, so can I!"
     But while the mushing seems strenuous, Michaels plans on
maintaining her "girly side" during her cool adventure.
     She adds, "I will still do my hair, make-up and nails to
look good before the race but I'll leave some of my foo-foo
outfit accessories behind."

Beating out more than 600 bidders, Michaels won the chance to compete in the first leg of the race on day one. Teaming up with former model turned musher, Zoya de Nure, Michaels will learn the ins and outs of what it takes to be a competitor. She will also be teaming up and utilizing the exposure of this event to raise monies for cancer research. She will be riding and raising money in honor of the 4 time Iditarod winner, Susan Butcher, who tragically lost her battle with Leukemia last year.

Monies raised will benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation- the same organization that works with Revlon for the Revlon run/walk and Katie Couric's initiative to cure colon cancer.

Los Angeles, CA--December 15, 2006 -- Adventure Girl Stefanie Michaels loves MySpace, not to mention has a soft place in her heart for her MySpace friends, all 8,000 plus of them. Michaels set out to have them help her plan this years holiday travels for her travel group, by asking for travel advice from locals in Argentina and Uruguay, as well as reaching out to her MySpace friends who had recently returned from the areas.
