Grandma’s Cranberry Salad Recipe
This ain’t your Mama’s cranberry salad recipe, it’s Grandma’s! One of our friends here at Adventuregirl.com posted her na-ma’s tasty recipe, and we thought it appropriate to share this for the holidays! Beth Mansfield, from Ventura, California says: “It’s delicious but be forewarned, it’s a Jello salad.” Potay-toe, potah-toe it all winds up in the same place, right?
1 box raspberry Jello (I use sugar free because I like fake things)
1 box strawberry Jello
~15 oz raspberries (I use frozen because it’s how it was done back in the day)
15oz can crushed pineapple
16oz can whole cranberries (you can use fresh, but again, this recipe predates me and I’ve been here awhile)
1 pt. sourcream
Let’s cook it!
Add 1 3/4 cups boiling water to raspberry jello; stir
Add frozen raspberries; stir
Pour into your serving bowl; let set
Once it is set, add sour cream, evenly distributed across top.
In seperate bowl, add 1 1/4 cups boiling water to strawberry jello; stir until disolved
Add pineapple & cranberries; stir
When it is cooled and starting to jell, pour on top of sour cream. Chill.
