September 2, 2010 – New York , NY- The Japan National Tourism Organization is pleased to announce a brand new partnership with Stefanie Michaels (aka @AdventureGirl) for the 2011 Visit Japan Campaign. This partnership will offer travelers the unique opportunity to learn more about Japan through the eyes of a travel expert, and eventually the chance to join her in a trip to Japan.

Earlier this year, the commissioner of the Japan Tourism Agency Hiroshi Mizohata announced that a primary mission of Japan’s tourism entities is to increase the number of foreign visitors to Japan by 20 million by the year 2016, to 25 million by 2019, and to 30 million in due course in the future. As the US market is crucial in the race to achieve these numbers, JNTO wishes to draw attention to Japan’s distinct seasonal climate, breathtaking scenery, and a highly diversified historic and cultural background through food culture, sports, fashion, eco-focused efforts, and much, much more.

Within just 12 months of joining Twitter, Adventure Girl was named Twitter’s top Global 100 and Top 50 “Tweeple” to follow. With over one million followers, Adventure Girl has carved a unique niche in the world of travel and entertainment. As a sought-after media presence, Adventure Girl has been featured in Vanity Fair Magazine, Time Magazine, Self, CNN and Forbes list of Top 20 Branded Women Online, including appearances on Discovery’s Planet Green, Acceshollywood.com, The Rachael Ray Show, Al Roker’s Morning Show, E! Entertainment Channel and has appeared on almost every major television network talking travel and social media.

By working with Adventure Girl, the Japan National Tourism Organization hopes to increase awareness about the wonderful qualities of Japan travel while simultaneously interacting on a more personal level with intrigued travelers. Executive Director of the Japan National Tourism Organization in New York, Shuichi Kameyama, notes:

“We are very excited to be working with Stefanie on the 2011 Visit Japan campaign. We hope that she and her fans will share a newfound enthusiasm for Japan that will hopefully inspire travelers to fully experience Japanese culture.”

The Japanese government is currently working to enhance tourism-related measures, towards the ultimate goal of creating a tourism nation. The JTA was newly established as an organization to serve as the hub for these efforts, and drive their deployment. In addition to carrying out measures to expand international tourism exchange such as the Visit Japan Campaign, the JTA works to prepare a national environment friendly to tourist travel. This includes creating appealing tourist destinations in Japan, upgrading tourism industries to fit traveler needs, promoting training and utilization of talent in the tourism field, encouraging the Japanese people to take vacations, and preparing safety measures for Japanese travelers abroad. For more information about JTA, please visit

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) is involved in a broad range of activities promoting travel to Japan through various activities overseas as well as tourism-promoting activities in Japan. Established in 1964, its main purpose is to further international exchange through tourism. JNTO maintains 13 offices in key cities around the world, through which a wide range of tourism-related promotions are carried out. Each overseas office is responsible for promoting travel and tourism to Japan; one of the most important functions is to help the travel industry encourage their clients to visit Japan.
For A Luxurious Revamp Of Its Property

St Barth’s largest resort is set to undergo major renovations this fall

(August 13, 2010 – New York, NY) – This fall, The Hotel Guanahani & Spa will be closing its doors, from August 29 to December 15. As always, in keeping the needs of its discriminating international guests a top priority, the largest resort of the island of St Barth’s decided to improve upon its property in order to better serve its distinctive clientele.

Famous for remaining open year-round, the hotel usually renovates and refurbishes the property with new embellishments during the low season. This year, the hotel will undergo major renovations, led by architect David Schwarz, interior designer Luis Pons and local architect Nicolas Lossent from Lotus Architectes. Most rooms will be embellished and one new, luxurious suite will be built on the property. Located in a remote setting on the beachfront, the Admiral Suite will resemble a villa and feature 2 spacious bedrooms, exclusive access to a small private beach and breathtaking views of the lagoon. Named after the title that Christopher Columbus received from the King of Spain (he was made ‘Admiral’ after his first expedition to the Americas and discovered the island of St Barth’s during his second expedition in 1493), the suite will feature custom-designed furniture that incorporates elements of leather and wood. It will also be decorated with navigation tools such as a spy glass and a sextant as a tribute to the famous explorer.

The premiere ocean view suite located at the top of the hill will be entirely revamped and turned into a luxurious 2-bedroom Butler unit: the Serenity Suite. Each bedroom will be complimented by a unique bathroom, respectively featuring a Turkish bath and a Jacuzzi. A true intimate haven of peace, the suite will offer breathtaking and panoramic views of the ocean. It will pay tribute to the literary association between water and serenity, with most elements evolving around the theme of water. A sincere accolade to spirituality, it will boast a unique waterfall and olive tree at the entrance. Guests looking for tranquility and privacy will enjoy the intimate pool, private entrances, the plush gardens surrounding the suite and the electric car exclusively available for them to drive around the resort.

The Admiral Suite and the Serenity Suite will be two exclusive additions to the 6 current Butler Suites of the hotel, providing the most luxurious comforts available including private pools and terraces that open onto the sea. Each suite has its own full-time butler on-hand to service guests’ every whim, offering to unpack the guests’ suitcase upon arrival, iron their clothes before their first evening or even draw a bath and specialize it with essential oils from the spa and fresh flowers. The Wellness Suite features 180 degree ocean and island views and after hours private access to the full service spa. For those looking for relaxation in the comfort of their suite, the Marigot Suite is the perfect setting: guests are offered 4 treatment spas per day and can choose to receive their treatment in the private treatment room located next to the garden of the suite. For beach-lovers, the Beach House two bedroom deluxe suite is ideal, situated directly on the beach with a private garden terrace and an outdoor jacuzzi. The Pelican Suite is a relaxing two bedroom suite boasting an elegant private garden setting with beautiful views of the ocean and an exclusive outdoor jacuzzi. The Garden House and La Villa are the only three bedroom suites of the resort. The Garden House offers intimacy and tranquility in a plush garden setting while La Villa stands out with its large secluded outdoor terrace and large swimming pool, perfect for those looking to spend most of their time outdoors, without leaving the premises.

In addition, refurbishments will continue in other areas of the resort, where some bathrooms will be remodeled to provide harmony with the plush tropical environment. Brighter bathrooms, opening onto private outdoor gardens, will allow a more intimate connection to nature. The terraces and outside decks of more than 20 rooms will be revamped and enlarged, providing guests with additional comfort and the ability to enjoy the unique environment and sea views of the resort. The new outdoor furniture will feature the ultimate in comfort: lavish ‘marquise’ armchairs and lounge chairs with plush pillows and elegant coffee tables.

Additionally, many existing rooms and suites will be repainted in soothing white, off-white, pearl, sand and light grey tones, with rare wood elements and soft cotton fabrics. There will be touches of Yardley English-lavender, Acqua di Parma-yellow, Hermes-inspired orange and Tiffany-blue. Overall, the Creole soul and architecture of the property will be maintained but a more natural, subtle style will emerge.

The new and improved fitness room will overlook the lagoon and will be relocated across from the beachfront. The boutique will be moved to where the fitness room is currently located. The kindergarten facility will be moved next to the new boutique, on the beach. Other phases of renovation are scheduled to take place in the upcoming years and more details will be revealed over the next few months.

Nestled in the midst of the Caribbean Sea on a private 16-acre peninsula, The Hotel Guanahani & Spa is a charming, luxurious paradise. The picturesque island of St Barth’s in the French West Indies is a symbol of fine gastronomy and French elegance and this exclusive resort exudes the same spirit. This prestigious 24-year old resort offers a remote setting unlike any other on the island: it features two private beaches, one facing the Atlantic and one facing a quiet lagoon perfect for windsurfing on Marigot Bay. All rooms are housed in private bungalows, surrounded by tropical gardens and facing the sea.

This year’s renovation of the property, which encourages a mix of luxury and intimacy, signals a heightened guest experience.

Reflexology with Aura Reading at the White Horses Spa
at The Lodge at Doonbeg

August 10, 2010 (County Clare, Ireland) – The White Horses Spa at The Lodge at Doonbeg in County Clare is offering guests new Reflexology with Aura Reading.

All treatments at the White Horses Spa are inspired by the natural environment of County Clare – think sea salt scrubs, algae wraps, mud masks, wildflower therapies – and now the Reflexology with Aura Reading (75 minutes, €125.00) gets a local Irish accent. Ger Hoyne, one of the talented spa therapists at Doonbeg, and a local of County Clare, uses his special gift of Aura reading to make Reflexology at White Horses Spa an one-of-a-kind experience.

Reflexology utilizes pressure points in the feet to restore the flow of energy throughout the body while promoting deep relaxation. Through reflexology, Ger is able to use his talent to analyze a person’s aura and provide a clear energy reading to help ease energy blocks and restore a person’s chi to a healthy balance.

White Horses Spa at The Lodge at Doonbeg is a world-class sanctuary offering wellness, rejuvenation and muscle therapy. Designed by internationally renowned, Irish-born designer Clodagh, the full-service spa coaxes serenity seekers with an extensive menu of Facial and Body Treatments, Rituals and Massages, along with advanced skincare products from Kerstin Florian.

Rates at The Lodge at Doonbeg start at 190 Euro per night. For more information or to make reservations, please contact (866) DOONBEG (366-6234) or visit www.doonbeggolfclub.com

PRESS RELEASE:

For Immediate release:

Bern, Switzerland

Bellevue Palace, in the capital city of Bern and right next to the Swiss Parliament, has long been a meeting place for politicians, royals, and dignitaries the world over. As the only 5-star hotel in Bern, the hotel’s luxury is renowned, as is its statesmanlike discretion, making it a natural host for world leaders. During WWII, Bellevue Palace was the picture of political neutrality, as was its famed restaurant, La Terasse, serving guests from Axis nations meeting in one half of the restaurant, and those from the Allied Powers in the other.

Queen Elizabeth and Fidel Castro have stayed, to name but a few. It’s said that more planning happens over cigars on La Terrasse than in the Parliament.

Rates start at $303/night.

Nantucket, Massachusetts

The summer crowds have dispersed, hotels aren’t expensive, the shops have sales, and all the restaurants are still open. Beach weather lasts into early fall, then later, a weekend in Nantucket becomes much cozier as hotels make use of in-room fireplaces. Explore the island by bike and stop for a hot ginger rum tea at The Brotherhood. You also may run into John Kerry and wife Teresa Heinz, who have a home on Brant Point.

Stay at the White Elephant, which is the perfect Nantucket inn and home base for a relaxing weekend right in town and just minutes from miles of beaches.

Rates in September start as low as $265.

Liwa Desert, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Tucked away deep in the heart of the Liwa Desert 90 minutes outside of Abu Dhabi International Airport stands the formidable Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara. Built to resemble the traditional Emirati forts found in this expansive desert, this “Mirage Palace” as it translates, is an explorer’s paradise and this secluded escape is fit for royalty. The Liwa is part of the world’s largest uninterrupted desert known as the “Empty Quarter,” spanning across four Arab states. Some of the world’s oldest trade routes can be found in this great expanse, along with towering sand dunes as tall as the Eiffel Tower, and ancient cities buried in sand.

Arabian ritual and tradition are the inspiration for the design of the resort and Emirati sheikhs are known to stay in the resort’s sumptuous villas, whose private entrances and personal butlers are ideal for those in need of a little discretion. And for guests who prefer to arrive by their own helicopter, Qasr Al Sarab boasts its own helipad.

Qasr Al Sarab is offering a Villa Essence Special Package for stays from now until October 29, which includes accommodations in a suite or villa, villa butler service, bottle of Champagne, and daily breakfast. Rates start at $980 for a suite and $1,252 for a one-bedroom villa.

Toronto, Ontario

The Park Hyatt Toronto is a chic hotel in the Yorkville district and sits directly across from the spectacular Royal Ontario Museum and the Michael Lee Chin Crystal. On a landmark corner, guests get the most spectacular views of the city at its only hotel rooftop bar, the legendary Roof Lounge, which is a favorite among local and visiting celebrities. The Roof Lounge boasts Tony Blair and Arnold Schwarzenegger as regulars, and many former Canadian Prime Ministers, including Lester B. Pearson, Pierre Trudeau, and John Turner.

Rates start at $252 this Fall for a Park King

Oracabessa, Jamaica

Miles away from Washington, the iconic Jamaican resort, GoldenEye, was originally home to Ian Fleming and the location where he penned the James Bond Novels. For decades it has been known as THE glamorous hideaway for everyone from Truman Capote to Kate Moss, as well as President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton. This November, the new GoldenEye opens after being closed for two years, featuring a compound of luxurious private villas, suites and cottages with amenities sure to please any president and his first lady. Politicians can take a break from campaigning and participate in the unique and inspirational activity program led by Iona Wynter, Jamaica’s Olympic tri-athlete with experiences ranging from stretch and snorkel to moonlit yoga. Ideal for those looking to avoid media scrutiny, the property features private beaches, secret lagoons and secluded coves. With a $1,000 donation, guests can plant a tree on property (just like Hillary and Bill!) and support the Oracabessa Foundation which encourages and educates sustainable development in the local community.

Special opening introductory rates start at $448/night.

Fares from $39 – and Virgin America Will Donate $5 from Every Direct Booking to Education Causes

San Francisco – August 3, 2010 – Virgin America today teams up with Twitter to launch a 24-hour “Fly Forward, Give Back” Fare Sale. The airline is encouraging flyers across the nation to grab a seat and retweet, to help raise funds for educational causes. With sale fares as low as $39* and with Virgin America donating five dollars per booking** over the next 24 hours to education focused nonprofits: this deal is definitely “retweetable.” With industry-leading guest service, beautiful design and a host of innovative amenities, Virgin America has captured a list of industry best-in-class awards and has become a favorite among tech-forward flyers since launching service in 2007.

The “Fly Forward, Give Back” Twitter 24-hour fare sale is good for travel across Virgin America’s network between August 24, 2010-November 17, 2010. Tickets must be purchased between 7:00am PT on August 3, 2010 and 7:00am PT on August 4, 2010. Main Cabin fares start as low as $39* on short-hauls like Los Angeles (LAX)-San Francisco (SFO) and SFO-Las Vegas (LAS). Long haul fares start at $109* from New York (JFK)-LAX, Boston (BOS)-SFO and Washington Dulles (IAD)-LAX. Tickets are on sale today on the airline’s Web site (www.virginamerica.com) and at 1.877.FLY.VIRGIN (1.877.359.8474).***

Virgin America will donate five dollars for every direct booking** made in the “Fly Forward, Give Back” 24-Hour Twitter Fare Sale to education focused nonprofits. Virgin America will donate up to $50,000 today – and 100 percent of the donation will go to KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) Classroom Projects on DonorsChoose.org. DonorsChoose.org is an online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students. Virgin America is an ongoing supporter of the KIPP network, which operates free, open-enrollment, college-prep public schools in under-resourced communities. For more about KIPP, visit: www.kipp.org. For more on DonorsChoose.org, visit: www.donorschoose.org

Virgin America offers unrivalled value with low fares and innovative features like touch-screen seatback entertainment, power outlets, mood-lighting and custom-designed leather seating with a deeper, more comfortable pitch. In May 2009, Virgin America became the first airline to offer guests in-flight internet on every flight. Last month, the airline took the top honors for the third year running as “Best Domestic Airline” in the prestigious Travel + Leisure Annual World’s Best Awards readers’ survey. For more: www.twitter.com/virginamerica
