ZÜRICH’S BAUR AU LAC and the 8th “ART IN THE PARK”
New York – October 26, 2011: Zürich’s eighth “Art in the Park” outdoor exhibition will take place this October 28, 2011 through January 20, 2012, in the private park of the city’s renowned Baur au Lac hotel. The show is created and curated by Gigi Kracht, the wife of Andrea Kracht, the hotel’s sixth-generation owner.
The entire show will comprise works by world-renowned sculptor Igor Ustinov, with 26 of his sculptures displayed – four of which weigh more than 600 pounds. All sculptures are made of bronze and range in heights from 15 inches to more than 9 feet.
ABOUT IGOR USTINOV:
Art mingles with the Russian, British and Swiss blood in Igor Ustinov’s veins. Son of actor Sir Peter Ustinov and grandson of painter Nadia Benois, Igor is an accomplished sculptor, biologist and opera singer. His distinctive sculptures -from the tiniest piece to his 9 feet, 3 ton monumentals – are often uplifting and always suffused with their creator’s irrepressible aura of hope. Over two decades, Igor’s creations have been exhibited from New York to Tel Aviv, from Bath to Bulgaria and of course in his home town of Lausanne, Switzerland.
