Italy

As if Italy couldn’t get any more beautiful! Now its underground station at University of Naples, home to more than 40,000 commuters, is getting world wide attention.

March 26, brought onlookers as well as commuters to see the newly designed underground. And, it wasn’t by an Italian designer, either. American designer Karim Rashid brought his digital art expertise into beautification project at the Naple’s station.

MetroNapoli enlisted an arsenal of a dozen artists and designers to the renovation  project– Alessandro Mendini, Anish Kapoor, Gae Aulenti, with wall art including Sol LeWitt’s vibrant pieces.

Wouldn’t we love to see this on ALL subways around the world!
